Worry

This verse in Matthew really stood out to me today. I would like to share it with you.

This is part of the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew.

Matthew 6:25-34

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

What is the first thing you think about after you read those verses? How do you feel after you read those verses? Do you feel reassured? Do you feel peace? I hope so.

The first thing I thought of after I read those verses was the little girl named Gabby. When she didn't have a family and was about to go into the institution, I was worried about her. I prayed and asked God if she could be on MFFM in five days or less. Sure enough, a few minutes later I look on MFFM and I see her on it! God is so good! He sure does know our needs even before we ask him! That how much He loves us!

Jesus knows that we worry about things. What are you worried about today? Are you worried about finances? Are you worried about trying to find a job? Are you worried about losing your job? Let God give you the peace and reassurance you need. He knows our needs, and He can help meet those needs if you will just ask Him.

Matthew 7:7-8

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

If you are worried about something, remember that God will always take care of you. And, if someone you know is worried about something, remind them today that God will always take care of them.  : )

Please keep praying for the children on RR.
